Taytay Zone- Philippines: Week 7, New Leaf

 Yooo been a minute so I'll throw an update your way

Still here in the Taytay Zone, looks like it's going to be my last area, which will be alright. It's a good area with a decent ward, so things should be cooking.

Word of the week: walang kinabukasan (THERE IS NO TOMORROW)

ESPN TOP 10 HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK/MONTH:

10. Had exchanges w the AP. Except it wasn't normal exchanges, he just joined us in a trio. So it was weird being a trio, but it was a fun day. Gotta drive back with him in the truck. Been a while since I've rode in a car

9. The stake wanted us to teach some youth how to OYM (open your mouth) at sone activity, like bro how do we teach that?? We just shared a verse and then took em out to go talk with everyone. They got rejected half the time, but at least they enjoyed hopefully.

8. On valentines day they did a parade in the whole cityy. It was crazy, every road was shut down. So our work was chopppedddd. Half our friends were at the parade and half were broken hearted at home

7. BRO im gonna crash outtt. Cheez Wiz on nachos has got to be illegal They love it too much here. Nachos, bread, cheeseburgers, its all on there...

6. Another MLC, another 8 hours sitting in a room. Interesting topics for discussion about our mission, a lot of changes. We also did the limbo for some reason chopped.

5. We had a zone activity, and we did a budol fight. It's where you just throw rice and food on banana leaves and eat with your hands. Pretty fun, then we played pickleball and lowkey got cooked by President.

4. Bruh we were in a lesson with this golden family we found and some old lady with a cig pulls up and says "Im mormons as well". Like bro you are not the representative of the Church we need rn gotta get nanay back on the path

3. The service missionaries wanted us to help them hand out cold water to tricycle drivers after church, so we stood in the middle of the road waving these drivers down to hand them a bottle of water. It was fun, just a random side quest.

2. At sacrament we saw a ton of miracles. We had a couple of new families show up, and they loved it. They had fellowshippers and they were just cooking and chopping it up back & forth. Members here are goatedddd

1. Brother MJ is actually the mannn. We were reading the Book of Mormon with a random dude we just met. After a couple of lessons, we promised him that if he read it and prayed, he would receive his answer and he just started bawling. The spirit is working within that guy. Pray for MJ!

Spiritual Thought:

27 Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness;

28 For the power is in them, wherein they are agents unto themselves. And inasmuch as men do good they shall in nowise lose their reward.

Love these verses talking about agency and our own desires. We have the power to do so much good, and we need to align our will with God's and use our agency righteously.
