Taguig Area- Philippines: Week 20- Aso

Word of the week: Hanap (find)- This is a lot of what we did this week, placed a lot of BoM, taught a lot of new people, but didn't see most of them @ church

Every item I own is soaking wet.

ESPN TOP 10 HIGHLIGHTS:

10 This week we got chased by a dog... my adrenaline never been so high in a minute. He was right next to my leg then lunged at me, luckily I turned into prime Deion Sanders and evaded his bite. My comp wasn't so lucky it got him on the calf but didn't break skin so we good.

9 Taught a couple online lessons, one of our friends scared us and went to the province, but he went to church over there and is coming back the day before his baptism!! So he'll still make it we just had to finish up his lessons online

8 Our favorite RM came back from his vacation so we ran up some unlimited wings with Bro Ruiz. Pretty shady wing place and not even masarap (delicious) so pretty much an L. But he's the goat, He's helping us with our friends and we're helping him with his potentials

7 There's a storm that hit our island so its legit rained daily. We've been coming home just drenched. Legit forgot what it feels like to be dry

6 We were teaching an old nanay (grandma) and she was talking about her daughter who was a business woman and didn't go to church and fell away from God. Then she turns and drops this: Matthew 16:20 "For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and LOSE HIS OWN SOUL?" Stone cold.

5 Elder Freemans girlfriend popped up on the youths FYP on TikTok. So they started chatting her and sending her videos of us pretty weird situation idk just thought its funny

4 McDonalds here got twisty fries!!! Its like Arby's fries. And also we went out with the Elders to shakeys which idek how to describe it but its like a BJs maybe. Idk if that's a good comparison but we ate way too much. but it was fire

3 Teaching a guy named Edmundo and he's a golden soul. Gave him a book of Mormon, he prayed about it and said "I know its true". He laminated it and the pamphlets we gave him. And even paid tithing!! He's the man. Getting baptized August 10. 

2 We taught the whole plan of salvation to some of our new faces and one girl who is getting baptized this week. Her availability has been shaky so we just got it out of the way now. But cotaught with the sisters and some members and it was a fire lesson. Had the chalkboard to draw it out and everything ️

1 Although we had a huge storm and quite a few floods, 14 of our friends were able to come to church which was another huge miracle for us️️. I think I'll probably be transferring this first week in August but I'm glad to see this area have so much success. I was really struggling at first here with sometimes 0 or like 2 SA. But now just having crazy success is such a blessing and relief to see. Our one RC Acel, who wants to serve a mission, brought 4 friends. So I think he's ready

Introduction of the Book of Mormon:

We invite all men everywhere to read the Book of Mormon, to ponder in their hearts the message it contains, and then to ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ if the book is true. Those who pursue this course and ask in faith will gain a testimony of its truth and divinity by the power of the Holy Ghost.

Those who gain this divine witness from the Holy Spirit will also come to know by the same power that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world, that Joseph Smith is His revelator and prophet in these last days, and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Lord’s kingdom once again established on the earth, preparatory to the Second Coming of the Messiah.

We were heavy on using the Book of Mormon as we know that its the keystone of our religion. Its so powerful in teaching and in lifelong conversion. If someone knows the Book of Mormon is the true word of God, everything else is a domino effect. We're so lucky to have the evidence in our hands and have such easy access to it. And we saw and felt its power this week.
